The Leadership
Statements of beliefs
Belief in One God
The Bible emphasizes monotheism, the belief in a single, all-powerful God who created and sustains the universe. This belief is foundational in Christianity and is articulated in the Shema: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one” (Deuteronomy 6:4).
The Trinity
Christians believe in the Trinity, the concept of one God in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. This belief is rooted in various passages, such as the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).
Salvation through Jesus Christ
Central to Christian belief is the idea that salvation is granted through faith in Jesus Christ. According to the Bible, Jesus’ death and resurrection provide atonement for sin and the promise of eternal life: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
The Ten Commandments
These commandments, given to Moses on Mount Sinai, are a set of ethical guidelines that outline the moral conduct expected of believers. They include directives such as honoring one’s parents, refraining from murder, theft, and adultery (Exodus 20:1-17).
Love and Compassion
The Bible teaches the importance of love and compassion toward others. Jesus summarized the greatest commandments as loving God with all one’s heart and loving one’s neighbor as oneself (Matthew 22:37-39).
Resurrection and Eternal Life
Christians believe in the resurrection of the dead and eternal life. The Bible speaks of a future resurrection where believers will be raised to eternal life with God: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).
The Holy Spirit
The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is present with believers, guiding, comforting, and empowering them. The Holy Spirit is described as a helper who leads believers into all truth (John 14:16-17).
